What is Hypnotism?

Hypnotism is a heightened state of awareness that is generally called a trance.  It is a natural state that you have experienced many times, for instance when absorbed in a good book, daydreaming, driving your car safely on autopilot.  It is a natural state in which your focus of attention is inward.

Your Conscious Mind is responsible for logic and decision making whilst your Unconscious Mind takes care of everything else from keeping your heart beating and other involuntary functions, storing memories, managing beliefs and habits, imagination and directing mental energy .

Being in a deeply relaxed trance allows access to your Unconscious and various processes can be used to change behaviours and habits which have often been formed as a result of very early experiences and which have a negative effect on you today.  You may consciously want to change but until your Unconscious Mind is given a new blueprint, it will continue with its habitual response.

What does Hypnotism feel like?

Hypnosis is a unique and tranquil experience where you are fully aware of all physical sensations around you.   You are in complete control and can simply open your eyes and return to normal awareness at any time you wish to.  Being in trance has been described as being similar to that dreamy relaxed state when you're not quite asleep but not quite awake. It is a pleasurable experience and you will awake feeling relaxed and refreshed.

When can it help?

Whether your problem is emotional, psychological or psychosomatic (actually physical symptoms) hypnosis can help because these are likely to be the "effects" of an embedded mental/ emotional cause.

Hypnosis can improve the way you feel about yourself and the world around you.
